Thanks to the Mediterranean climate, the meadows and trees are greener and the lakes warmer in this southern part of Austria than in other parts of the country. Whether you come to Carinthia alone, as a couple, with friends or with your family, there is something for everyone to do that they enjoy. From cycling and walking to swimming, mountain climbing or visiting a zoo. It is not without reason that Carinthia is known as a family destination, so parents have just as much fun here as children. Zoos

A trip to a zoo is of course fun all year round. There is plenty of choice in the immediate vicinity of our house: Under Landskron Castle on the Affenberg , more than 160 Japanese macaques provide plenty of entertainment. If you go further up, you will reach the Adlerwarte Landskron where you can get up close to beautiful, imposing birds of prey. Or go to Tierpark Rosegg , which consists of a beautiful walking park and a petting zoo. Walk past bison, lynx and deer or pet and cuddle the sweetest animals.

Climbing and scrambling

In the Kletterwald on Lake Ossiach you can enjoy a beautiful descent on a winding trail through a wooded gorge. Of course you are secured with a carabiner when you whiz through the forest on this roller coaster (Fly-Line). Not only fun for children, but also for adults. And we already know what the kids will say: "Wow, that was cool!" and "One more time! One more time!"

What makes Carinthia really special is its rugged nature. For example, you can visit the Obir stalactite caves where you can see with your own eyes how magical a mountain massif looks from the inside. Or go to the Expi in Gotschuchen where you can examine nature and its laws through all kinds of experiments and activity stations. Fun for amateur scientists or curious kids of all ages.

Of course you can also take endless walks and cycle along one of the many routes in the area. Those who prefer to visit a city for shopping can of course visit pleasant cities in all three countries.
